SBAE’s mission is to restore academic excellence and parental rights in the American education system by building a national network of state-based organizations and school board members dedicated to reforming policies and practices that improve student outcomes in America’s school districts.

We believe that the academic achievement of students is too important to allow misguided ideologies and vested interests to stand in the way of reform. The education system is failing students badly, and an overhaul is necessary. School board members must pursue proven-effective solutions without apology.

We believe education is an issue best addressed at the local level. Well-informed, well-trained local school board members, working closely with parents and teachers, are in the best position to solve problems that may seem insurmountable at the state or federal level.

We believe that the public education system cannot be left to rot on the vine. Public school boards oversee the education of more than 85% of America’s nearly 50 million students and control approximately one trillion annual tax dollars. The fate of our nation is in their hands.
