About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven individual to join our Finance & Accounting team. As a Finance & Accounting Intern, you will provide the Bearing Tree team and our partner organizations with critical backend support that empowers everyone to do their best work. You must be curious, entrepreneurial, self-accountable, and solutions-driven. Additionally, you are passionate about the work of our partner organizations and are committed to doing everything you can to help them be successful. 

This internship will report to Tina Maue, our Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Controller. 

Responsibilities 

What You’ll Get to Do: 

Create Meaningful Insights: Assist in designing financial reports and providing trend analysis to help drive decision-making and strategy. 

Be Part of the Big Picture: Support the external audit and review of our financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance. 

Master Monthly Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to keep our financials on point. 

Hone Your Analytical Skills: Review intercompany balances and ensure accurate alignment every month. 

Dive Into Business Operations: Take on additional duties and tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of our finance processes. 

Ensure Financial Harmony: Collaborate with the accounting team to maintain balanced trial balances monthly. 

Contribute to Big Ideas: Assist the Finance team with special projects and initiatives designed to enhance our operations and strategy.

Location 

The Finance & Accounting Internship is based in our Chicago office and an in-office role.
