About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven individual to join our Finance team. As an Accounting Associate, you will provide the Bearing Tree team and our partner organizations with critical backend support that empowers everyone to do their best work. You must be curious, entrepreneurial, self-accountable, and solutions driven. Additionally, you are passionate about the work of our partner organizations and are committed to doing everything you can to help them be successful.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update cash flow files to reflect current financial data.
- Generate ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making.
- Prepare, code, and upload documents in Certify and NetSuite for accurate recordkeeping.
- Support partner onboarding by gathering and organizing necessary information.
- Manage and update the Chart of Accounts (COA) and class structures.
- Handle invoice processing, including autopay systems and manual invoice retrieval.
- Track billable expenses and ensure accurate client invoicing.
- Administer expense platforms like Expensify and manage credit card reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities, including prepaid expenses and amortization schedules.
- Maintain documentation for fixed assets and liaise with compliance personnel.
- Monitor and respond to the accounting inbox and manage tasks via Basecamp.
- Provide administrative and research support to the Finance & Accounting team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (graduating seniors are encouraged to apply)
- 1-3 years of experience in an administrative or entry-level accounting role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information.
- Quick learner with a willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities.
